Abstract
The article presents an exploration into the political cycles of the United States, particularly focusing on party-based racial polarization within the electorate and within the projected political culture. Assertions are made that a polarization cycle manifests itself within the careers of elected officials in proximity to their election campaigns. Data is given from the popularity ratings and election results of the 2006 U.S. Senate races, measuring and analyzing changes in constituent approval ratings along ethnic lines.
