Abstract
•This is the first Japanese trial to monitor MRSA in quarantined swine imports.•MRSA isolates were obtained from 41 swine (32.8%) from two of five countries.•All 12 tested isolates were classified as ST398.•Monitoring animal imports is important for the One Health approach.
