Abstract
The article presents a case study of the West Virginia Botanic Gardens (WVBG) in Monongalia County, West Virginia, focusing on the public history project that was initiated to research the history of the gardens. It discusses task forces created to research the history of the area, history of the land including its ownership and usage, and information about the area's caretaker from the mid-20th century, Ralph Lemley.
