Abstract
The article reports on a study by the "Journal of the American Dental Association," that asked 78 patients in Norway to rate their own smiles on a 100-point satisfaction scale. The study also asked the patient's regular dentist and an independent periodontist to rate the patient's smiles from photographs, using the same scale. According to the study, patients were more satisfied with their own smiles than dentists rating them. Patient's rate an average of 59.1 while dentists' rate only 38.6.
