Abstract
The article presents the discussion on the role of folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12 in one-carbon metabolism and pregnancy outcomes. Topics include evidence indicating the first 1,000 days of life being critical for optimal growth and brain development; and gestational micronutrient deficiencies being linked to compromised conception, length of gestation, and foetal development and growth.
