Abstract
The article focuses on the views of the author on drug policy in the U.S. The expanding utilization of statins in the Medicaid programs has increased the program expenditures. Another responsible factor for increased expenditures for the statin drug is pricing. The author suggests administrators of prescription drug programs should control program costs and ensure that medications are used appropriately.
