Abstract
AbstractIn 1980 a partially mummified moa was found in a rock shelter in the Echo Valley, 15 km due east of Lake Te Anau, Southland, New Zealand. It is the only specimen of Anomalopteryx didiformisfound so far with skin and feather remains still attached. This paper describes the location and the remains; records the measurements of the tarsometatarsus and skull and compares them with other Anomalopteryx didiformisspecimens from Southland; and maps the distribution of finds of this species in Southland.
