Abstract
Cadmium-109 chloride was injected into Leghorn chickens in trace quantities over a 12-week period. After a 3-week equilibration period, the chickens were sacrificed and the cadmium levels in various tissues were determined. The liver and kidneys retained the largest percentages of cadmium. Small percentages were found in eggs laid during the study.
