The Reliability Centered Maintenance method is now widely adopted at EDF to draw up maintenance programs. In an RCM study, one can easily see that there is an imbalance in resources between the fIrst, well-formalized phases and the last, which is trusted to the judgment of experts. In an attempt to aid in the phase of maintenance task selection, the parameters that influence the frequency of the tasks are sought, and several proposals are made to attempt to rationalize and formalize the approach followed by the experts to set a frequency value.
