Abstract
It is an offense under the Narcotic Control Act of Canada for a person to have in his possession Cannabis sativa(marihuana), Cannabisresin (hashish), or any of the cannabinoid constituents of C. sativa, including cannabinol (CBN), cannabidiol (CBD), and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), unless such possession is legally authorized. Each year, thousands of Canadians are convicted under this Act; the figure for 1976 was in excess of 33 000 [1].
