This article discusses the evidence of the presence on Masada of fish sauces, a special Roman delicacy, in the context of the fortress' unique history in the Jewish and Roman world. The discussion aims to describe, data and interpret this evidence of fish sauces in the fortress. The evidence of the fish sauces falls into three categories, such as fish remains, jars which contained fish sauces and inscriptions on jars containing information about their contents. It cites evidence that the date of the fish sauces and jar that contain them belong to the Herodian period from 37 to 4 B.C.
