Abstract
The article discusses a study on the cost benefits of using an integrated design approach for an offshore wind turbine. Topics addressed include optimization and cost savings with regard to support structure design, applying the full loading environment in a single phase along with advanced turbine control techniques, and the offshore structures' response to wave loading. Also mentioned are wind turbines' response to wind loading and design approaches in the offshore wind industry.
