Abstract
A smart city is emerging as a strategy to the issues caused by rapid urbanization and urban population growth. Despite the fact that cities continue to grow and improve their economic, social, as well as environmental objectives, a minimal study has been conducted on this topic. Due to an urgent need for smart city concepts to be applied, stakeholders have gained a better understanding of how their city is performing today. As a result, establishing a structural framework for smart city evaluation is essential to communicate emerging shortcomings and strengths, highlighting areas of genuine development. This research provides a useful tool to assist assess the relative success of smart cities, based on the exploration of an enormous as well as a broad range of literature from many academic fields and on the conceptual literature. Moreover, it is crucial to consider the evaluation extent of smart cities.
