Abstract
The article discusses the history and architecture of the Church of San Remigio in Florence, Italy, with a focus on vestiges of antiquity and evidence of renovations over the course of the history of the church. Topics discussed include the church's current gothic style and older architecture revealed during renovations in 1966, the history of patronage of the church, including the well to do Bagnesi family of San Remigio in the 13th and 14th centuries; and an examination of the decoration and design of the Church.
