Abstract
The article discusses the situation of composers in Turkey with special attention to the role of 20th century Turkish history and politics. Other topics mentioned in this article include the role of the Turkish cultural policy, the Turkish composer Ahmed Adnan Saygun, and the influential relationship between music and globalization as well as ideology.
