Abstract
The article discusses the active partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the ASTM International in the development and promotion of standardization in the U.S. in 2008. The standards development mission of the ASTM International complements the mission of the NIST to promote industrial competitiveness and innovation through the advancement of technology, standards and measurement science.
