Abstract
The article discusses how the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International process could help the aviation industry in the United States develop the standards it needed. To correct safety problems, three ASTM International committees have collaborated with the Federal Aviation Administration. These committees are F37 on Light Sport Aircraft, F38 on Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and F39 on Normal and Utility Category Airplane Electrical Wiring System.
