Abstract
The article discusses the conducted analysis to determine the geochemistry and geomicrobiology of the northern Baffin Bay in Greenland. The study aims to collect information on the ecosystem called microbial biosphere of marine sediments in the area. The bacteria division that was specifically analyzed is the Chloroflexi or Green Non Sulphur bacteria. In the study, a modified gas chromatograph was used to measure methane concentration. It cites the use of fluorescence microscopy to determine the number of living bacteria and archaea through catalyzed reporter deposition-fluorescence In-situ hybridisation (CARD-FISH).
