Abstract
The article discusses a study which aims to determine advanced glycation end products (AGE) metabolites in African American and European American patients with prostate cancer. Topics discussed include contribution of metabolic susceptibility to cancer disparity, results of glycation in the accumulation of reactive metabolites, and measuring of levels of the AGE metabolite carboxymethyl-lysine in serum and tissue from patients with prostate cancer by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
