Abstract
The article discusses the role of astrology in ancient world. Topics discussed include development of medicine from astrology and The Uruk taxonomy, development of ancient Greece system of medicine called melothesia which originated in the Hellenistic period, and the differentiation from planetary and zodiacal influence along with concept of essence or spirit in ancient Egypt.
