Abstract
The article focuses on diagnostic performance of a rapid point-of-care test for SARS-CoV-2 in an urban emergency department setting. Topics include the false-positive diagnosis can result in potential exposure of a COVID-negative patient, receiving care in a COVID ward and unnecessary use of personal protective equipment has limited supply, and SARS-CoV-2 testing has first established in reference and academic clinical laboratories with capacity for high-complexity test development.
