Abstract
The author reflects on climate change which distracts people from other threats to biodiversity. Topics discussed include concerns about the importance of environmental sustainability within and beyond the scientific community; Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services based on strengthening dialogue between the scientific community, governments, and other stakeholders; and worldwide scientific collaboration on environmental sustainability under Future Earth platform.
