Abstract
The article investigates the mechanical properties of cellulase treated fabrics using the multivariate analysis. Cellulase treatment increased the Kawabata Evaluation System (KES) parameters in group 1 which include weight loss (WL) and fabric extensability (EMT) while decreased them in group four which include shear parameters G, 2HG, 2HG5 and bending rigidities. Treated fabrics also demonstrated higher weight loss and mechanical agitation which increased the pilling level. The removal of pills as a result of high mechanical agitation increased the surface roughness of woven fabrics while lower mechanical agitation decreased bending hysterisis (2HB) and flexural rigidities (FR).
