Abstract
This article focuses on renal transplantation in the elderly people. The article covers some crucial points like magnitude of problem, acceptance rate onto transplantation waiting lists, published results, comparison with dialysis, causes of graft loss in the elderly, causes of death, selection of candidates, immunosuppressive strategies and the topic old donors for old recipients. The article takes into account, patients in developed countries in their 60's or 70's who are no longer considered old.
