Abstract
The article focuses on a study which aims to determine the impacts of drinking water supplementation with trytophan and vitamin B6 or feeding hydrogenated fat (HF) in an effort to reduce hunger-induced drinking pre-slaughter in pigs. It reveals that HF supplementation did not influence behaviour in lairage and water intake at anytime over the pre-slaughter fasting period. It mentions the effects of fasting on body energy reserves and the improvement of carcass yield
