Abstract
The article studies the effect of cellulosic fiber obtained from writing paper, bleached kraft pulp and commercial rice flour on the foaming of polyurethane (PU) using polyols from soy bean oil. It showed how the presence of the cellulosic materials influenced the density of the foams when forming water-blown PUs by reacting soy polyol with an isocyanate (NCO). A general observation was that fibers had a considerable effect on the curing and foaming behavior of soy polyurethane (SPU) foams.
