Abstract
The article describes the case of a 13-year-old boy who developed a yellow bumpy rash on his arm which was thought to be secondary to ingrown hair. Topics discussed include finding on the initial inspection of the multiple fasting blood specimens, clinical characteristics of xanthomas, and ways to eliminate or reduce the interference with many common laboratory tests.
