Abstract
The article focuses on the relationship between income inequality and informal employment in Latin America between 1990 and 2018, provides an empirical evidence suggesting a positive association between formalization in the labor market and labor income equality. Topics include the ambiguity of the relationship, the potential causal directions between informality and inequality, and the positive association found in Latin America's context-specific conditions.
