Abstract
The article discusses the genetics of bone mass density (BMD). Topics include the identification of regulatory genes in BMD, the SM/J and NZB/BINJ mouse model of intercross population used for analysis of quantitative trait locus (QTL) on chromosomes, measurement of whole body and vertebral areal BMD by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, sex-specific effects in BMD differences, haplotype analysis, and the Trps1 gene.
