Abstract
The article presents the findings of a study on the identification of quantitative trait loci linked to serum adiponectin in the population of African Americans and Yoruba in Nigeria. Levels of serum adiponectin were higher in Nigerian population than in the U.S. Adiponectin concentrations were linked with body mass index (BMI) and weight in both population. The highest limit of detection (LOD) scores were found on chromosome 11 in both populations.
