Abstract
The article offers tips to make switching work fun on prototype railroad. It provides an overview of the four towns in the N scale New Haven layout to provide ideas in designing and operating a realistic layout including the track arrangements and operating ideas that the author discovered from studying the prototype. It notes that almost all railroad switching work boils down to three basic moves such as the trailing-point move which is the easiest switching, facing point and runaround move.
