Abstract
The article discusses the highlights of the International Symposium on Food and Health: From Measurement Science to Quality and Safety held in Hong Kong, China on November 10, 2011. The symposium was aimed at sharing new developments and challenges relating to quality and safety issues in the food and health sectors, and solutions that may be provided by measurement science to those challenges. Risk assessment based on reliable scientific data in developing food safety standards is important.
