Abstract
The article discusses the research which aims to determine the proportion of alcohol-related presentations to the emergency departments (EDs) in Australia and New Zealand. It states that one in seven ED presentations were caused by alcohol, with EDs seeing more than one in three alcohol-related presentations. It mentions that alcohol-related cases to EDs are underreported and makes strong case for public health initiatives.
