Abstract
The article discusses acute pancreatitis and its local complications, based on the 2012 Revised Atlanta classification of morphological features of acute pancreatitis, and their management strategies. Topics discussed include unresolved acute peripancreatic fluid collections to become pancreatic pseudocysts, rich in amylase and other pancreatic enzymes, pancreatic pseudocyst complications and management options such as endoscopic management and percutaneous drainage, and pancreatic necrosis.
