Abstract
The article focuses on pension insurance law in Japan, focusing on various characteristics and problems within the system. The beginnings of Japanese pensions, which began with the establishment of cooperatives, are outlined. Differences in German and Japanese cooperatives and labor unions are discussed and the effect of these differences on pensions is considered. The author contends that the Japanese system is too complicated and that there are too many discrepancies in benefits allocation.
