Abstract
The article focuses on literary in comparative and world literature. It mentions how for many recent theorists the value of literature lies in the extent to which it makes the reader more ethically sensitive to the cultural differences and geopolitical complexities of the contemporary age. It also mentions literature has become a relatively empty signifier with very few theoretical nuances and tradition of semiotics.
