Abstract
The article discusses a Pilot Study of Severe Ciliary Dyskinesia in Ventilated Patients. Topics include this phenomenon may be partially explained by a quantitative ciliary loss and may cause mucous retention and pneumonia; Although primary ciliary dyskinesia is a well-known entity, data concerning secondary ciliary dyskinesia, particularly in ventilated ill patients, are scarce; results suggest a role for primary lung injury in the alteration of ciliary function in ventilated patients.
