Abstract
The article focuses on the challenges of achieving effective antisepsis in orthognathic surgery due to high bacterial concentrations in the oral and nasal cavities. Topics discussed include the prevalence of surgical site infections in orthognathic surgery, various strategies for local antiseptic preparation, and opportunities for innovation to reduce infectious complications.
