Abstract
The article focuses on strip steering control in a hot strip mill and its critical role in achieving safe and stable production. It discusses the development of a fully automatic model-predictive threading control by Primetals Technologies, which positions the strip head safely in the center of the following mill stand, reducing production losses and improving safety.
