Abstract
The article presents a research on immunohistochemical expression of estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, p53 and Ki67 in urogenital carcinomas and tumors of California sea lions. The study used immunohistochemistry to assess 12 sea lions with metatastic carcinoma, 4 with genital epithelial dysplasia, and 6 control. The result indicates that urogenital carcinogenesis may be attributed to alterations in p53, endogenous hormones, and environmental contaminants.
