Abstract
The article focuses on the longitudinal trends in the use of bone mass measurement among older people in the United States from 1999 to 2005. It evaluated trends in bone mass measurement among Medicare beneficiaries of beneficiaries ages 65 and older and evaluated temporal trends in the use of the tests and on retesting. It mentions that use of central Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA) increased, while peripheral DXA declined.
