Abstract
The article discusses suicide risk and the developments in suicide prevention efforts, particularly in the state of Alabama. The Alabama Suicide Prevention Task Force, formed in 2001 has become a 501c3 non-profit called the Alabama Suicide Prevention and Resources Coalition (ASPARC), and a suicide-specific three credit hour graduate course has been added by at least two universities. The author presents observations on suicide including it being caused by multiple variables.
