Abstract
The article discusses the defence spending contributed to North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and President Donald Trump's call to its alliances for increased contribution. Particular focus is given to the benchmark set for the alliance countries to contribute to NATO, the financial goals set by the alliances to meet the 2 percent goal spending of their gross domestic product (GDP) in defence, and pooling resources for improved defence system such as European missile defence system.
