Abstract
The article discusses the importance of surgical management in thyroid disease. It presents the common conditions encountered in surgery, the symptoms and signs, as well as identifies the various types of thyroid surgery. It determines postoperative complications in thyroid surgery, which haemotoma formation causing respiratory compromise as considered as the most serious.
