Abstract
The article focuses on pandemics are marked both by the infection itself and by the disruption it can cause in the ability of health care providers to support the well-being patients. Topics include the midwives experienced frequent changes in policies due to rapidly-evolving understanding of COVID-19, the potential disruption of the usual midwife-patient relationships related to public health, and the deaths were not evenly distributed but instead reflect social and political inequities.
