Abstract
The article discusses the history of the British Columbia Electric Railway Company Limited, formed in 1897 as a consolidated streetcar and interurban transport company serving Vancouver, Victoria, and New Westminster, British Columbia. Expansion of the company's passenger and freight service throughout southwest British Columbia is discussed, as is its decline in the latter 20th century.
