Abstract
The article focuses on changes to the structure of social benefits in Austria as decided by the Austrian Nationalrat on September 9, 1955. In particular, the "Allgemeine Sozialversicherungsgesetz" (ASVG; General Social Security Law) that will take effect on January 1, 1956 is discussed. Changes from the existing law with regard to health insurance, old age pensions, and accident insurance for employees are examined.
