Abstract
The article focuses on assessing the use of subcutaneous insulin as an treatment for mild to moderate diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), aiming to decrease Emergency Department (ED) length of stay and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admissions. Topics include the impact of the SQuID protocol on ED operational metrics, comparing outcomes between subcutaneous insulin and traditional insulin therapy, and considerations regarding the safety and effectiveness of this approach in managing DKA patients.
