Abstract
The article focuses on field cancerization in lung adenocarcinoma (ADC) and the early changes associated with or permissive of cancer development in the peripheral lung. Topics discussed include reduced progenitor cell function, altered immune responses, and the accumulation of cancer-associated mutations in the contralateral lungs of individuals with early-stage ADC identified through screening chest CT.
