Abstract
The article reports on the insecticide resistance of western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande), to spinosad in south-eastern Spain's greenhouses. Findings on the collected field populations without previous exposure to spinosad in Murcia and the populations in greenhouses that were resistant to spinosad in Almeria are presented. In relation, insecticides like acrinathrin, formetanate or methiocarb are mentioned. Based on the correlation analysis, no cross-resistance among the three insecticides and spinosad were found in the field populations and in laboratory strains. These result suggests that rotation with spinosad may be an effective resistance management strategy.
